Haven't ever had to interact with fingerprinting, but I've done lots of COM implementations with CF over the years. What exactly are the issues you're running into with the ActiveX SDK? Maybe give some background on the API and the types of calls you're making, as well as the issues that are cropping up.

am using fingerprint SDK 2007.

creating the comn object is not a problem, but passing some arguments is very hard, and the finger print device is not even responding.

some sample codes are in the documentation, anyone who would like to offer some assistance should pls leave your mail address, i will send the documentation and probably the software.

The thing is that i have developed a nice evoting system with macromedia flash and coldfusion mx 7. i just want to integrate a finger print authentication into the system. Does anyone have a better idea.

Looking at the samples, how about just using the Java object that Griaule provides with the SDK? Would that meet your needs? CF7 would prefer that over the COM instance, for certain, and you may get more granular feedback from the API.

Once the SDK is installed on the server, you should be able to use:
createObject("JAVA", "com.griaule.grFinger")
