Well, certi-FIED anyway. I finally got around to taking my ColdFusion MX7 Developer exam today. I only got an 81%...so enough for a certification, but not for the advanced cert. This was my first time taking the exam (even though I've been using CF for 7 years now), so I'm happy with the result.
It was definitely tougher than I thought it would be. I think what made it so hard was all of the parts of code that I don't use too often that showed up on the test (cfchart, cfform, etc.) I took a few practice tests from cfmx exam buster and that *really* helped. If anyone else is going to take that exam, it was definitely a life saver on a few questions (they were almost exact copies). If I took it again, I think I'd just take all of the practice tests a few days before, because I stretched it out over a couple of weeks, then as I'm trying to learn all of the newer stuff, I would forget a couple of details of the old stuff I learned. Oh well, at least when I take the CF8 exam, I'll know how to study a bit better.
I'm sure that Adobe will be releasing the CF8 certification next week so my CFMX7 certification will be no good any more :), but until then YEAH, I'M CERTIFIED :)
