I too agree Flex as the good move. But if we have java background it will be easy to move with no pain.
Flex will rule the web world with its rocking features. It is booming in job market now.

I switch to PHP on occasion so I can use WordPress. Plus it was the first web scripting language that I learned as a Computer Science student in college.
I really hate PHP, but I really love WordPress. It's a love-hate relationship.
