I posted a few others at my blog flexoop.com. That's where I make all of my blog entries now. You should be able to use any standard regular expression though. It's just playing around with it to make it work. Good luck.

Very nice tips. Do you have a few more. I tried to find the documentation for Find/Replace of Eclipse but unable to locate it. Can you point me to some source.

Error Message 5

I have been working with some of my CFCs and was setting a default property for it. I'm using the CFProperty tags and the "this" scope as I'm returning the results to a flex component. I have all of my defaults set up in my cfproperty and "this" scope and was trying to use my "init()" function to return the object. However, each time I tried to access the object, ColdFusion was throwing the error message "5". That's right, just the number 5, nothing else.

Once I had narrowed it down to the init… Continue

Need Assistance - OT

This is completely off topic for ColdFusion, but has been bugging me for about 10 years (junior year in college).

I bought a really great CD, Ska - The Third Wave, from a used CD store (I recently found out that it was disc 1 of a 5 disc set, but I've been pretty happy with just the first disc). The song is in my playlist on my main page, Undercover SKA - My Girl Became A Dude (The Transexual Song). It's a funny song and pretty catchy, but there is one line in the chorus that I absolutely canno… Continue

Returning typed objects to Flex from ColdFusion

Back in January I saw Brian Kotek's post about returning typed structs to Flex. When I first read this article, I wasn't sure how useful it was (I guess I was getting a little confused with the addition of Transfer and AOP in the article, and figured it was just something for that framework). A few weeks later I came across… Continue

Proposition 317

I'm sure this is something that is very important to many folks that hold St. Patrick near and dear to their hearts. If you want to raise more pints of Guinness in his memory, but don't feel that there is enough time after you get off work March 17th, don't forget to sign proposition 317 to petition to get St. Patrick's Day recognized as an official holiday.

I'm Certifiable!

Well, certi-FIED anyway. I finally got around to taking my ColdFusion MX7 Developer exam today. I only got an 81%...so enough for a certification, but not for the advanced cert. This was my first time taking the exam (even though I've been using CF for 7 years now), so I'm happy with the result.

It was definitely tougher than I thought it would be. I think what made it so hard was all of the parts of code that I don't use too often that showed up on the test (cfchart, cfform, etc.) I to… Continue

Sorry dude. You know what it's like.

I obviously didn't try that but was trying all kinds of combinations surrounding the OR (|) and filters (*?). It just seemed to keep swapping between the two conditions though :-(.

There might be more of these little critters kicking around so I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning and see if it picks up anymore :-)

I'll let you know ;-)

Hi Gareth,

Ummm, well I would but I gave up this morning and just did them manually :-(.It was taken me so long to get the expression that I figured it would be just as much time to do them myself. Not what I wanted that but time was just against me.

The main the problem ended up being that not only did I need to filter out the ones which already had a token but also get it to pick up tags which ended in /> and well as >. I just couldn't get the right combination to get all three combinations in one result set.

Moved on now to try and figure out how I can get 120+ files onto two servers without doing that manually as well. It looks like ANT might be my friend here which is new terrority for me.

I've done a few things in the past like using it to find and extract any src attributes from an . Then CFHTTPed the image and save it :-)

That was CF though not Eclipse. Quite a cool little feature to have ina search though....

Your Expression didn't work BTW :-(.The results were returning the same as a standard search for me. It was a good start though!

Just dawned on me tonight that I'm going to have to check all the files out of VSS before I can make the change as well, sigh!! These 5 minute jobs always take far too long :-(.

Cheers,
James

Again thanks Gareth. That's been a huge help :-)

Thanks for that Gareth. I'll give it a shot ;-).

BTW, where are you finding the syntax for the Expressions from? Your head or is there a reference site somewhere :-). I can't seem to find anything.

Yeah, it's good to know that there are a few Welsh people out there doing CF. I'm in Cardiff and the Web team I'm in are all doing CF but there's now a push to do new stuff in .NET :-(
