A majority of the projects I work on are related to the Real Estate industry; I was thinking about starting up a group for those of us lucky enough to be involved in the world of MLS Data, RETS Servers & Realtor divas. Any takers?
Hello,
Haven't done much - a couple locally.
Getting ready to do one for my best friends brothers new company and am not versed on MLS access but I'm sure it's fairly simple. I'd join :)
I've worked with a few rental, commercial real estate applications, but never integrated with MLS. I've done some web scraping as well for my own lazy purposes when i was house shopping :D
Working on a MLS based realitor application right now. Love the difficult data dumps they offer to populate the search results. Also will probably be building a property manager for this client since he does a lot with forclosed and condemed homes.
Setting up a web service for developers to make it easier to get the MLS Listings through XML verses the 80's style framed solution they offer or the crappy data dumps. That has been an experience.
I've worked on a few projects with Sandicor's MLS DB (San Diego). I'm actually about to start a new project, using some of what I've built already, with a friend of mine who is going to be doing custom videos for people selling their homes. Basically if you can get a Broker to sign you can get full access to the majority of Sandicor's data. Anyway, I'd be interested. :)
I think it is because Coldfusion isn't viewed as a good development language. The people making decisions hear .NET, Java, or PHP... so coldfusion isn't really looked from a management point of view.
What they don't seem to understand is that it is…
The company I currently work for are wanting to convert from Coldfusion / Oracle to Sharepoint / MSSQL. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this?
Also, how hard will it be for me to get use to .Net?
